I opened the door and behind it was a totally
different world. I read the sign in front of this really amazing gate, it said
‘Thika High’. It seems like a high school or something.
Around it were really beautiful beaches
with bright, yellow sand. I walked
towards the middle of the island. I saw that there were many kids my age
playing happily around an old looking building which looked sort of like an
old, ruined castle. One girl came up to me and introduced herself.
“Hi, you must be the new girl supposed
to come here. I read the sign-in list,” she said, “Oh and by the way, I’m
Petunia Blake. I’ll show you around after you finish unpacking.”
I just realised that I was carrying a
heavy, violet suitcase. I was really surprised.
“O.K thanks. I’m Victoria Maxwell. Call me Ria.” I
replied back.
Petunia was wearing blue trainers with a dark, brown
t-shirt. Wow, her outfit DO NOT match. She must really be tomboy, exact
opposite to her name, I thought.
She introduced me to four other kids, Will, Jason,
Ashley and Casey. Casey and Ashley were really nice, Jason didn’t seem to
really care that I was there. Will on the other hand, was totally unbearable.
He tried putting rotten eggs into my school bag, luckily, I stopped him just in
time.
Petunia, she told me to call her Nia, showed me to my sleeping area. The place was nearly
as big as the first floor of my house. It had six rooms. There were three
bedrooms, one for me, one for Nia and one a spare. A kitchen, a lounge room and
a games room were also there.
The next day I was all ready for school. I prepared
my uniform that was a navy short-sleeved dress that reaches my knees, with
white leggings. It was just really
simple.
When I walked into the classroom, there were 21
other kids. Ms Silva, my teacher, told me the names of everyone in class. The
girls are Liley, Ashley, Arin, Karen, Diana, Casey, Gloria, Kimberley, Anne,
Petunia and Tiffany. The boys are David, Peter, Frank, Matthew, Will, Jason,
Jake, Richard, Zac and Julian. I was told to sit next to Anne. She is just
totally nice!
Oh, by the way, there was even Thika High Mall! I
had such an awesome experience at Thika High, which actually turned out to be
one of my silly dreams. Or at least it was great!
